Today we have the lovely Jamie Merrow, fellow Meet organiser and Chief Publisher Wrangler. And Jamie, I think I might be able to make your Meet wish come true! 😉
I grew up on an island (http://www.visitisleofwight.co.uk/) and spent most of my childhood flitting between the beach and the local library, which had a museum filled with the remains of local dinosaurs on the upstairs floor. Despite all that reading, I came to writing somewhat late in life, nervously making my first foray into fiction in 2007. Oddly, I don’t think I’ve ever written anything about dinosaurs *starts plotting m/m remake of One Million Years BC with guys in furry Speedos*.
2) Tell us something about you that might come as a surprise!
I jived for Cambridge University. There’s nothing like energetic Latin American dancing for keeping the weight off. Unfortunately, I’ve done nothing like energetic Latin American dancing for years….
3) What do you like most about the LGBTQ genre?
The people, which probably sounds corny and clichéd, but is absolutely true!
4) What are you most looking forward to about UK Meet?
Apart from the Meet itself: revisiting Manchester’s fabulous gay village. The guys at Taurus were all so welcoming when Jo Myles and I scoped it out last year, and the Richmond Tea Rooms is a venue straight out of Alice in Wonderland.
5) If you had one wish which would come true at UK Meet, what would that be?
To see Charlie Cochrane blowing Nigel Owens’s whistle Jo Myles modelling her handmade corset! 😉
