Meet the delegates: Kay Berrisford

It’s my pleasure today to introduce Kay Berrisford–one of our spotlight authors who attended the Meet in Milton Keynes in 2011. Since then she’s had several novels published, and is busy carving her very own niche of m/m BDSM historical paranormal fantasy 🙂

kayberrisford1) Tell us about yourself in 100 words or fewer.

I’m a coffee-and-cake-loving book fiend, who adores traveling, history, and writing, writing, writing. I was once okay at tennis and have forgotten how to play the violin and piano. I currently jog — but not very far — and enjoy reading all kinds of romance and long, rambling historical novels big enough to commit murder with.

I live in Southampton, Hampshire, UK, with my beloved “other half,” in a very small flat that blesses us on occasion with outbreaks of moths and mould.

2) Tell us something about you that might come as a surprise!

I spent three months working for an acting agency in the heart of London’s theatreland and once researched a book for a high profile BBC celebrity!

3) What do you like most about the LGBTQ genre?

The diversity. Just about every genre is embraced within it, from sci-fi to contemporary romance.

4) What are you most looking forward to about UK Meet?

Getting to know so many lovely readers and writers. I’m especially looking forward to meeting some other Loose Id writers, many of whom are flying in from the US. *Hugs* all round!

5) If you had one wish which would come true at UK Meet, what would that be?

Right now, it’s that I get there in time for the start! The flight I’ve booked cuts it a bit fine…
