Today on the blog it’s my pleasure to introduce Josie, who’s attending the UK Meet for the first time this year. Josie is a keen reader and she reviews for the popular blog, Mrs Condit and Friends Read Books. But now, more from Josie herself!
1) Tell us about yourself in 100 words or fewer
I am a married middle aged bookaholic with a full time job. I read everything and anything, always have; in fact I was called a bookworm at school. Reading is my escape from the real world. For the last few years I been reading just M/M fiction, I have a love of BDSM, law enforcement, werewolves and vampires, with a dose of angst thrown in, but I do insist on a happy ending. Before discovering M/M I read fan fiction, mainly US Queer as Folk, Stargate Atlantis and Supernatural, and long before the internet I read historical and fantasy fiction.
2) Tell us something about you that might come as a surprise!
I am a cardmaker and scrapbooker, I loved to create. I am a stamper and nothing beats the satisfaction of making a nice pretty card.
3) What do you like most about the LGBTQ genre?
For me its the lack of stereotypes, each book has unique characters and they can be whatever you want them to be. I love a romance story, and a happy ending and with two men there are no pre defined roles.
4) What are you most looking forward to about UK Meet?
Meeting authors I admire, making new friends and feeling a part of a wonderful genre.
5) If you had one wish which would come true at UK Meet, what would that be?
I just want to have fun, to enjoy myself, make loads of new friends and come home with a ton of new books to read
