Today I’d like to introduce Mara Ismine, an author who’s been to the last two Meets. Mara has made it remarkably easy for people to know who she is by getting some fabulously sparkly t-shirts made (pictured), although she’s warned me she might be wearing something different on one of the days this year! Now then, Mara, in your own words…
Which me did you want me to tell you about? I can never be sure who’s in charge: my inner-child, inner-adult or inner-parent. It can make life interesting. Whoever is in charge I live in my own little universe that only bears a passing resemblance to yours. 🙂
Other than that I live on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, usually have a day job and spend a lot of time walking a pair of dog leads while yelling loudly. Occasionally the leads and I are accompanied by my two dogs.
2) Tell us something about you that might come as a surprise!
I don’t think there’s anything surprising about me, but then I wouldn’t would I? I have a British Amateur Gymnastics Award at level three, is that surprising?
3) What do you like most about the LGBTQ genre?
The freshness and the wonderful authors.
4) What are you most looking forward to about UK Meet?
Nattering! And the freedom to natter about the genre without having to explain it first.
5) If you had one wish which would come true at UK Meet, what would that be?
That there’d be three of me so I could go to all the panels and work on the shiny ideas they generate. Maybe that should be four of me so that I can natter as well.
