Meet the delegates: Kate Aaron

Today, it’s my pleasure to introduce Kate Aaron–a Spotlight Author and UK Meet first timer. However, I expect we’ll all be relying on Kate for directions as she used to live in Manchester. Kate, I trust you’re familiar with where all the best bars and eateries are!

KAPic1) Tell us about yourself in 100 words or fewer.

I’m a northern native and former resident of Manchester. These days I live closer to Liverpool with a menagerie of animals including two dogs, a parrot and a bearded dragon. I have a BA in Language and Literature and an MA in Gender, Sexuality and Culture, and can think of no better way of utilising them than by writing romance!

2) Tell us something about you that might come as a surprise!

For the past six years I’ve worked as a construction project planner – not what I was born to do!

3) What do you like most about the LGBTQ genre?

Being gay, it’s a reflection of my life. I grew up looking for people like me in the books I read; now I’m writing those books for other people. It’s a great feeling to see it becoming more and more mainstream.

4) What are you most looking forward to about UK Meet?

Meeting so many internet friends in the third dimension!

5) If you had one wish which would come true at UK Meet, what would that be?

I’d love to see some of my American friends there, but it’s too far for them to travel. Perhaps next year *crosses fingers*
