Please give a warm welcome to Daniel A. Kaine, an author who attended last year’s UK Meet and made himself lots of new friends, as well as displaying the best collection of t-shirts I’ve ever seen! Take it away, Daniel..
I live in the northeast of England with my two adorable degus, Mik and Ash. When I’m not busy at the day job, I enjoy canoeing, running and general fitness. I started writing a little over three years ago now when I got hooked on Naruto fan fiction, and then slowly ventured into original stories after stumbling on the NaNo forums. After self-publishing my first two books, I’m now contracted with Dreamspinner and Wilde City. Also, I’m a full-on submissive, and have a collection of awesome t-shirts. 🙂
2) Tell us something about you that might come as a surprise!
Well, this one time at band camp… I don’t think I have anything that would be a surprise as I’m a very open person, especially where sex is concerned. Normally this would be the question where I tell people I’ve wrote a few books, but somehow that feels a little redundant in this situation.
3) What do you like most about the LGBTQ genre?
I like the sense of community we have. We’re a lot smaller than other genres, though growing rapidly, but I like that. There are some real opportunities to make lifelong friends in the genre, and to collaborate in ways that just aren’t there in the larger genres.
4) What are you most looking forward to about UK Meet?
Getting to meet everyone from the Brighton meet in 2012 again, and also to making new friends. Also… Anal Street! Sorry, I mean Canal Street. I haven’t been there yet, so that will be a new experience for me.
5) If you had one wish which would come true at UK Meet, what would that be?
To win the lottery while I’m there so I can retire from my day job and really focus on my writing. Okay, seriously, I wish just to have a great time and meet lots of people.
