Make the most of your visit to Manchester and meeting up with new and old friends 🙂

Join us us for an EVENING MEAL on Friday, Saturday – or both :). It’s totally optional, but we’ve chosen venues, menus and entertainment that we think you’ll enjoy, and will allow us all a chance to socialise with the other attendees at the end of a hard day’s MEET-ing.
We are limited to specific numbers at both venues, but we hope to be able to welcome everyone who wants to come. Just let us know as soon as possible!
Note: We’ll all meet and travel from the hotel together so there’s no chance of getting lost or left out.

FRIDAY EVENING (around 7.45pm)
TAURUS: Manchester’s award-winning bar and restaurant on Canal Street.
“Busy without being a madhouse, friendly without being over-the-top and a huge success without being arrogant – there’s no better place…”
Choose your main course and dessert from the following list:

SATURDAY EVENING (around 7.45pm)
RICHMOND TEA ROOMS
“Their traditional English style tea room, serving food and an array of beverages throughout the day and evening has to be seen to be believed. The totally OTT decor gives a knowing nod towards a Tim Burton inspired design. Their chefs have created recipes and unique specialities whilst also providing the traditional favourites too. In contrast, their adjoining cocktail lounge, with its quirky fixtures, fittings offer the most delicious hand made cocktails imaginable.”
There will be a relaxed champagne reception and buffet at the Tea Rooms. Plus, we’ve arranged for some fascinating cabaret entertainment for you all during and after the meal. Purely as spectators, that is …:)

GUIDED LGBTQ WALKS OF THE VILLAGE
“Five decades of LGBT Manchester.
Accredited Visit Manchester tour guide, and chair of Manchester-based Gaydio, John Ryan, leads a gentle walk around Manchester’s famous Canal Street and gay village. You’ll hear stories of the city’s sleazy past, visit a couple of history-changing bars, and discover how Manchester was at the heart of gay liberation through the 70s. Sit next to Alan Turing, hear about the infamous ‘Quality Street Gang’ and find out how ‘Queer as Folk’ changed gay Manchester forever. An hour-long walk and talk around the compact Village locale with plenty of rest stops.”
We have arranged a tour of the Village area for our attendees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, starting at 6.45PM. On Friday and Saturday, it’ll finish by the relevant restaurant, just in time for our evening meal. We’ve negotiated a special rate of £5 per person, and the group each evening is limited to 20. Feel free to check with friends in advance, and come en masse! No special equipment needed, apart from your enthusiastic attention 🙂
